More Rear Brake Stuff

May 16, 2014 //

OK back to the rear brake. I needed a brake lever to actuate the brake cam on the internal brake. I used a piece of 1/4″ ply to test but it crumbled when actuated.
Next I used a piece of heavy sheet metal. I wanted to cut the square hole and then plot where it would fit on the lever so I would have maximum pressure on it
Here is the sheet metal test piece

Here are my Dad’s drafting tools from College. He went to RPI and was a chemiocal engineer and a great father. I miss him lots. I have felt him and my mother hovering around helping so it is fitting to use his tools to draw the pattern.
