I have an original rear fender but it was not in great shape. I found new fender blanks in Australia and had one shipped in. I found the front and rear fender are the same arc but different length. The Long tank has a longer rear fender then the small tank. The fender is about 7″ longer and the cut out for the chainguard is longer.
- I worked on fitting all of the clevis. Some needed to be bored and reamed and I then made new pins, this one I bored and bushed and used an NOS pin.
- The clutch pedal bolt was in poor condition. Here you can see the pedal with the old bolt. I made a new bolt and two nuts for it. I then ground off the old bolt and Bentley welded the new one on.
- Here is the cut out chiseled into the blank
- Here is the fender after it was cut and then hammered. It acutually went very easy. You can see the clamp blocks Whit made to hold the fender while it was being hammered
- Here is the blank that was made by a friend Whit Hart.
- Here is Bentley Vaughn laying out the chainguard cut out
